Craig Davidson - Managing Director

Aged 21, with my newly attained Economics degree in hand, I started my financial services career as an administrator with Scottish Widows, in London. Following a few years with the Widows and then Sun Alliance, in Hong Kong, I realised where I wanted to be within the industry - providing advice directly to clients. Even more specific was the desire to be Independent. So, after moving back to the UK and spending five years advising business customers at Lloyds TSB, I started my own IFA firm - Davidsons IFA.

Over the years the business has grown, client numbers have increased and I have seen our "brand" become established as a trusted source of financial advice. Today, while I still personally look after a small handful of clients, I spend most of my time running the business, working on projects and writing the occassional blog.

Robert Smith - Associate Director (Regulated)

I joined Davidsons IFA in March 2015, having spent 30 years working for Lloyds TSB. While I enjoyed my time at the bank, undertaking various roles including Bank Manager and Branch Manager, my true passion always lay with client-facing financial advice. Doing that within the confines of the bank always felt limiting.

Becoming a truly independent adviser with Davidsons has been thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding. I am now responsible for managing our growing team of regulated advisers as well as providing specialist pension transfer advice on defined benefit pension schemes.

Chris Hurley - Associate Director (Mortgages)

Before joining Davidsons IFA, I had enjoyed a 30-year career with Cheltenham and Gloucester Building Society. I joined straight from school as a counter clerk and finished as the Group Manager for the Exeter area. However, as I progressed through the ranks I gradually moved away from what I had originally wanted to do - deal directly with clients, helping them achieve their goals and aspirations. So, in March 2007 I left C&G and joined Davidsons IFA as an independent mortgage adviser.

Over the years I have enjoyed the freedom of being independent, with unlimited products and services to source from, as well as taken great satisfaction in helping the business grow. While my role has evolved, becoming an Associate Director responsible for our mortgage department, my passion for client work remains undiminished. I still deal directly with clients as well as sharing my knowledge and experience with the rest of the mortgage team.

Richard Sykes - Associate Director (Wadebridge)

I joined Davidsons IFA in January 2011. Before that, I was a broker consultant for Clerical Medical and Scottish Widows, providing support to financial advisers. This showed me the other side to financial advice and gave me an insight into how different IFA businesses were run and how they treated their clients. That led to my desire to deal directly with clients as an independent adviser, helping them with their financial issues by providing good advice without the sales spin.

Since then, I have enjoyed building long term relationships with clients, providing a refreshing approach to financial advice. Since September 2018, I have been responsible for running our new offices in Wadebridge, Cornwall. I am looking forward to building the Davidsons brand across the South West.
