Building long-term relationships
Craig began his career in financial services immediately on leaving university. He worked in both London and Hong Kong before moving to the South West with his family and starting Davidsons IFA in 2001.
Over the years, Craig has enjoyed helping clients with all sorts of issues, from arranging mortgages for buying their first home to managing retirement portfolios.
“When I started the business, the primary objective was to be an independent adviser. Over the years, I have come to realise that this means being honest and open about our advice. If we avoid the sales culture and focus on what our clients actually want or need, then we will build long-term relationships.”
Craig’s children have recently flown the nest, so he and his wife are currently renovating a new house. When time permits, he also enjoys short holidays and the occasional salsa lesson.
The money we invest is not ours – it’s our clients’ money, and we should never forget that.

The three small things that make my day better are:
Good coffee. A clear blue sky. No mistakes.
The three things I love most about my job are:
Independence. Freedom. The ability to change things.
Three things on my bucket list are:
Sail to the Isles of Scilly. Research my family history. Make good sourdough.
When the dessert menu arrives, I’m looking for:
- Walking the dog
- Gin and Tonic
